HYDRA ISLAND

The island of Hydra is one the Saronic Islands of Greece, located in the Aegean sea. It's close proximity to Athens makes the island ideal for day trips and weekend getaways from the city. ( 1hours and 30 mins by Hydrofoil fast speed boat). The fastest way to get to the island is by booking a 'Flying Dolphin boat', however there are other alternative transportations such as slow ferry, taxi from the mainland then boat and helicopters. Contact us if you would like to use any of these alternative transports.

The boat can be booked by this website. We ask you to wait for our instructions to do this, closer to the date we will have a better idea of which boat to take as group and if we can get a group discount.

At our arrival to the port of Hydra, we will be greeted by our own donkey owner, who will load our bags onto his donkeys and take them to the house. You can also ride the donkey if you prefer ,or walk with the others up to the house. (Donkey rides and bag loading, not included in retreat price)

Your home for the retreat will be the beautifully renovated 18th Century Kriezis mansion, which straddles the Kamini hillside of the main port and town. It is a 10 min walk from the main port up the charming polished town alleyways. Shops are also 5mins away.

WHAT TO WEAR

The weather varies this time year but it is normally t-shirt  weather or light sweater and trousers during the day. At night, due to the sea air, there can be a cooler breeze. We recommend layers of clothes to transition from day to evening. Perhaps also one big sweater, in case, you never know with the current world weather patterns!

The island port is casual for the most part and you will want to bring yoga clothes for the workshop.  Most importantly bring good shoes for walking in uneven terrain-It's not a high heel place! Rubber soles and comfort should be your go to!
